Anita has shown outstanding leadership, during her many years in the Resources industry where women in higher ranking positions are more a rarity than the norm.

After holding senior roles at BHP, Anita founded Ultimate Safety Solutions Australia (USSA) in 2007, when she saw a need for simplistic and sustainable Health Safety and Environmental solutions and the need to get back to the basics of: • Robust risk management; • Risk control action tracking, close out and effectiveness review; • Communication and consultation; and • Innovative training techniques.

She has a passion for developing simple and sustainable systems and services to apply to Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of industry. Anita says “the combined experience of our team members has shown us that systems are generally implemented to be compliance driven, prescriptive and bureaucratic. This results in systems of substandard performance where companies breed a culture of fear that leads to “ticking the box’ on health, safety and environmental issues rather than ensuring their successful operation.’’
