Judith
Judith suffered with a malignant cancer that left her blind at the age of two and she revels in the memories of the colours and sights that she remembers before she lost her sight. She shares her true sense of vision by travelling the world and speaking about the charitable foundation in Africa she has established for children with the same eye condition that made her blind.
Elton is her fourth guide dog, coming into her life in mid 2008, after Judith had been without a guide dog for many months. She had to let her third dog, the loyal Taisha, first retire after eleven and a half years of being together and then later, when Judith returned from Jamaica, face that the time had come to let Taisha go to her final rest. As a life coach, Judith says “I am reflecting upon the qualities required of me, and of my dog and I as a team, to achieve a strong relationship that in turn means an excellent working team. Coaching is part of my life, as I use these qualities not only with my clients and my professional life but also in the development of a wonderful relationship with my dog.”
